DESIGNING YOUR SYSTEM AND SELECTING COMPONENTS
Is your green wall for decorative use or for growing vegetables and herbs?
The great thing about our green walls is that they easily meet both objectives. A living wall filled with healthy organic vegetables is both beautiful to look at and incredibly functional. If your grow wall meets both of these requirements, select veggies, if it will be purely for decorative purposes select the Decorative section below.

Where will your wall be installed?
Ideally your green wall will be South facing to get as much sunlight as possible. Veggies love sun and the more they get the faster they grow. Should you choose to grow indoors lighting can be supplemented with specialised “Grow Lights” that can be specified separately
Do you have an existing wall or will you build a frame?
The system is designed to be fixed to an existing wall or fence but creating a frame is an easy task - see our Facebook page for inspiration and ideas
What are the dimensions you have available for your Green wall?
Standard dimensions are as follows:
Each rail is 3 ft long and the tanks are 1 ft high. The Pots are 7 in diameter.
A tank is 13” wide.
Pots are installed in “rows”, one above the other to allow for water to flow through them and into a catch tank below.
By using configurations of the standard dimensions installation is simplified and costs are reduced.
An ideal configuration for veggie growing is either 4 ft high or 7 ft high and 2’4” to 4’4” wide or wider. This makes the planting and harvesting most efficient and gets the optimal use of the pot kits.
We recommend a 40 or 80 pot system for domestic use as this will allow for a good flow of produce by staggering the planting
For larger systems, larger than 200 pots, or for unusual sizes contact us and our design team will prepare a quote and give design ideas to reduce cost and maximise your system performance
How will you water your Living Wall?
Hand watering
The cheapest method is to hand water the wall with a hose pipe. Simply build the vertical wall, plant the seedlings in potting soil and water them as required.
Select as many 40 pot kits as you need and add to shopping basket
Manual Drip Irrigation
Add our drip irrigation system to make use of the innovative design feature of the pots and significantly reduce water consumption. Install the pre packaged drip irrigation system, connect it to your hosepipe and remember to turn the tap on to water the plants and turn it off again when you are done
Select 1 irrigation system per 2 40 pot kits (there is enough in each pack for an 80 pot kit)
Automated Drip Irrigation
Avoid having to remember to do the watering and install a timer directly on your water supply. No need to remember to water or risk leaving the water running.

Recycle your water Install the GrowUp recycle tanks to your system. All water that runs through the pots is caught and ready to be used again. Install a small fountain pump and pump the water back through the plants reducing water usage by up to 90%. Go all the way with an outdoor timer to control the pump and you have a fully automated watering and plant management system. All you have to do is plant, wait and harvest.
After selecting your pots and irrigation kit
Select 1 Master tank (this covers your first 2 rows of pots)
Select 1 Secondary tank per additional 2 rows of pots
Select a pump and timer or source one online
You also have the option to select one of our bundled automation or automation ready kits and save money by buying a pre-bundled product
For larger installations, greater than 160 pots, we can assist with alternative solutions to creating the fully automated solution

Decorative walls can be built inside or outside and the choice of plants is key to ensuring success. Select plants that are easily obtainable locally. Take the advice of a plant specialist to enjoy a hassle free implementation
